Faculty Advisor
F. Michael Hoffmann, PhD.

Dr. F. Michael Hoffmann is the faculty advisor for the facility and group leader for the Experimental Therapeutics section of the UWCCC.

   

Resource Director
Noël R. Peters, M.S.

The facility is managed by a master's level instrumentation specialist, Noël Peters. Noël has extensive experience in high-throughput screening, laboratory robotics, and chemical genetics research. She is responsible for maintaining the facility and compound collections, assisting researchers in screening, data management, and facilitating investigators using the facility.

 

Research Specialist
Song Guo, MS

Song Guo is the research specialist at the Small Molecule Screening Facility. Song has many years of research experience at City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles, CA and a master's degree in computer science. Song is responsible for all aspects of SMSF services and also maintains the cell culture facilities at SMSF

   

Sr. Research Specialist
Yun Luo, PhD

Dr Yun Luo is a Sr. Research Specialist at the SMSF and has a PhD in Chemistry and Post-Doctoral Experience in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin. Yun is responsible for providing chemical expertise and advice to screening facility users in addition to supporting chemistry projects as needed at the Med Chem Core Facility. Yun also assists the facility in management of its compound libraries and users with their high-throughput screens.

   

 

Instrumentation Specialist
Xiaoji Zhang, MD, MS

Dr. Xioaji Zhang is an Instrumentation Specialist at the SMSF and has extensive research experience at the University of Iowa and Vanderbilt University. Xioaji is responsible for all aspects of SMSF services and also develops new mechanism of action assays for the SMSF

 

Laboratory Assistant
Betsy Miazga, BS

Betsy Miazga is a lab assistant at the SMSF and PharmD student at UW School Of Pharmacy. Betsy has worked for the SMSF for 4 years and assists with the lab organization.

   

Laboratory Assistant
JP Geygan

JP is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin majoring in Biology and Political Science. He is responsible for lab organization and automation maintenance.

 

 

 

Michael Alexander
